10 things to know about commencement

  1. Commencement will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, in the DLK/Kachel Fieldhouse.
  2. Five complimentary commencement tickets will be available for pick up with a photo I.D. at the Center of the Arts Ticket Office from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 6 through Friday, May 15. Tickets are issued once and, if lost, will not be replaced.
  3. Caps and gowns will be available for pick up at the University Bookstore throughout the week of Monday, May 11. Contact the Bookstore at 262-472-5632.
  4. Graduates with a disability must contact Connie Wiersma from the Center for Students with Disabilities for accommodations by Friday, April 17, at 262-472-5244.
  5. A professional photographer will take pictures during commencement as students cross the stage and shake hands with Chancellor Telfer. Proofs will be sent to each graduate. Family portraits may also be taken with graduates after the ceremony. Visit the photographer's Web site at cvstudios.com.
  6. Commencement will be broadcast live throughout the City of Whitewater on UWW-TV Cable 19. Seating is available in Drumlin Hall for guests without a ticket to watch the live broadcast. A map of Drumlin Hall and parking is available at www.uww.edu/adminaffairs/parking.
  7. Cable 19 will offer commencement DVDs for purchase. The DVD will include the opening ceremony, the speaker, the conferring of diplomas to students and the closing ceremony. Additional information will be sent to graduates.
  8. Diplomas will be mailed two months after the ceremony to addresses indicated on the data card completed by graduates in the Registrar's Office. Contact the Registrar's Office at 262-472-5179 for address changes.
  9. Arrive early to ensure parking. A map of allotted parking lots for commencement is available at www.uww.edu/adminaffairs/parking/docs/commencement.pdf
  10. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8:30 a.m. Guests not seated by 9:45 a.m. will not be allowed in the Fieldhouse until after the ceremony begins.
