Can I fax my camp application packet?

Unfortunately, no.  We need an original signature on several of the forms, so please be sure to mail the packet to the address provided.

How many camps can my child attend?

Due to new DPI guidelines, students may only attend one camp in June (if they did not already use a DPI scholarship during the previous school semester) and one camp in July (if they did not use a DPI scholarship at another campus during the summer).  You will be notified by letter if your child has been accepted to a specific camp.

 How much does camp cost?

Camp costs cover all food, lodging, and activities associated with the camp.  If your child qualifies for the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Scholarship, there is no cost to you.  If your child does not qualify, the cost to you is $350 per week.  (Checks can be made out to UW-Whitewater.)

How does my child get to the UW-Whitewater campus for camp?

Campers should have a parent or guardian bring them to camps.  On check in day we have a parent orientation where important information regarding your child's experience will be shared.  Also, please be on time to pick your child up at the end of the camp; we will have closing activities you may want to see and UWW staff will be preparing for the arrival of new guests.

Is this an overnight camp?

Yes, this is a residential camp.  Students sleep in the UW-Whitewater Residence Halls, eat at the dining facilities, and participate in activities all over campus.  If you are attending a camp that extends longer than one week, please be sure to check the details regarding weekend attendance for the specific camp.

How can I find out what my child is doing while at camp?

Please come back to the PreCollege Website often!  While the staff is out and about having fun and learning new things with your child, we will post agendas, pictures, and news from each of the camps.
