Gear Up Camp

GRADES

Entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade by fall of the upcoming school year; and enrolled in a GEAR UP target school

GOALS

  • Provide students with research experience in the areas of math, English, science, and technology
  • Expose students to various interests in the fields of arts, science, and business

OBJECTIVES

  • Gain basic research skills
  • Enhance analytical and writing/reading skills
  • Experience the art of presenting a research topic
  • Cover the foundations of general math and science
  • Explore the fields of arts and humanities
  • Learn the basic essentials of business, finance and economics

ACTIVITIES

Students will:
  • Produce a poster presentation of interest
  • Develop a research paper
  • Attend enrichment sessions in academic areas
  • Visit area businesses and activities

Grados

Metas
