UW-W Men's Rugby won the 2011 National Championship on May 1,2011 by defeating Mddlebury (VT) 7-3 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Overview

Our club was founded in the spring of 1989 by Ken Lowe, a native of South Africa. 2011 marks the 22nd year of our existence. The University of Wisconsin Whitewater Rugby Club participates in the Wisconsin Rugby Union as a division 2 collegiate team. We have two seasons per year. One in the fall semester and one in the spring semester. Our conference season is played in the fall, of which the top two teams in our conference qualify for the NCAA Midwest Tournament, which is the launching pad into the national tournament. Also, during the year, including summer, we participate in tournaments around the state and the midwest.
If you are concerned with not knowing rules or lack of experience, no need to worry, everyone is welcome to join. We will show you how to play rugby, and more important make you a good player in the process.
