Marketing involves business activities so that production and the exchange of goods and services maximize consumer satisfactions and producer profits. Marketing studies the behavior of people in their search for products and services to satisfy their needs and then develops and provides the consumer with need-satisfying opportunities consistent with the goals of society. Marketing functions include choosing customer groups, developing products, creating advertising and promotions, determining the proper price, and distributing them. Marketing via the Internet and other interactive media includes all of these components.
