Gender Studies and Ethnic Studies are interdisciplinary areas that explore new knowledge about gender and ethnicity as social categories. The Gender and Ethnic Studies Minor allows students to explore the intersections of these two disciplines and to study the ways that gender and ethnicity shape each other and the world. This minor broadens students’ knowledge of the experiences and contributions of women and ethnic minorities. It helps students understand complex social issues, such as poverty and inequality, and it complements a wide range of majors.
