THE SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE  TEAM OFFERS

  • Compassionate, confidential support. We are not required to take down your name. We will believe you, support you, empower you and be there so you don't have to go through it alone.
  • Someone who understands the effects of sexual assault with whom you may safely talk through your thoughts and feelings at your own pace withour fear of being judged 24-hour per day, 365 days a year.
  • Information on resources to help you recover from the experience of sexual assault.
  • Help arranging a forensic exam, transportation to the hospital and advocacy during the exam, if you decide to seek one.
  • Advocacy while you file a police report and transportation if needed, if you decide to file one.
  • Advocacy while you file a complaint with the University conduct officer, if you decide to file one,
  • Resource information and support for friends, roommates, family and partners of students and employees who have been sexually assaulted.

If you are a staff/ faculty or graduate student at UW-Whitewater and would like to become a member of the team, download an application or contact the team coordinator, Marilyn Kile at 262-472-1300 X2244 for more information. New members will be trained in January; date and time will be determined by trainees schedules.

If you are a student who would like to work on ending sexual violence, contact the Students Against Sexual Violence at sasvuww@uww.edu.

To report an assault through the university conduct system, contact the Office of Student Life, University Center 245, (262) 472-1533.

To report an assault through the criminal justice system, contact the police department where the assault occurred.
