Applying for Graduation & Credit Evaluation

Students approaching completion of their program should:

  • Report to the Registrar's Office at the beginning of the semester before they plan to graduate.
  • File an "Application for Graduation" data card at the Registrar's Office.
  • Review with major advisor(s) all coursework, credits earned, and possible waivers or changes to the degree.
  • Inform the Registrar's Office of any course changes, substitutions or waivers.

The Registrar's Office will produce a final audit of a student's credits when the "Application for Graduation" data card is submitted. This audit will formally review all credits taken, transfered, or substituted/waived, and detail which course work may remain. From this audit, students will recognize which credits or courses are to be completed in their last term of attendance. Cautious advising is very important during their senior year.

Commencement is held twice each year-at the end of the fall and spring semesters. All coursework (including co-ops, internships and student teaching) must be completed before a degree will be awarded. Only then is attendance at a commencement ceremony permitted.

Candidates for graduation at the end of a summer session must apply for "AUGUST" Graduation.

Although attendance is optional, we strongly encourage all graduates and their families to attend this important ceremony and celebrate the achievements of our new graduates.
