Earth Week 2012 Photography Exhibition
**NOTE: SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 20 at 4:30 PM**The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will be celebrating
Earth Day on Thursday, April 26, 2012 with a series of presentations and on
campus events including guest lectures, film showings, an energy efficient
automobile show, and a green business and volunteer fair.
The theme of this years event is
We are All Connected by Rivers.
Earth Day organizers are inviting interested students,
faculty and community members to participate in the celebration by submitting
digital photographs for inclusion in an exhibition to be held at a variety of
sites on campus. Venues to view the
photographs include public video monitors in the Greenhill Center of the Arts,
Connor University Center and the College of Business and Economics facility in
Hyland Hall. Computers with display
monitors will also be placed in the exhibitions located in the Hamilton Room
during Earth Day presentations for a series of rotating slide shows.
To enter the exhibition, please select up to three separate
photographs for submission. The
photographs should be appropriate to the celebration.
Landscapes, natural scenes, wildlife and community activities would all
be appropriate choices. Each image
should be submitted as a JPEG file.
Each photograph should be saved with a file name that
includes the artists name and the numbers 1, 2,or 3 (example: Jennifer
Smith1.jpeg) and be accompanied by the entry form.
Artists should list their entries so that they correspond to the file
name (example: Jennifer Smith 1:
Northern Wisconsin Landscape, 2012).
All photographs should be of good quality with sharp focus and proper exposure
to ensure their inclusion in the exhibit.
File sizes should not exceed 5 MB.
Judges from the Art Department and organizers of the Earth
Day Celebration will review entries for adherence to these broad guidelines.
A group of outstanding entries will be selected for display on the large
monitor in the Atrium of Hyland Hall during the Earth Day commemoration.
Entries must be submitted to the Earth Day Photography
Exhibition no later than Friday, April 20th, by 4:30 pm.

Entries may also be submitted on a CD and delivered to the Crossman
Gallery during regular gallery hours or delivered to: Linda Reid, Department of

Hyland Hall 3520. CDs should
be labeled with the artists name and Earth Day Photo Exhibition.
