Recycling and Waste

UW-Whitewater began recycling municipal solid waste (glass, plastic, aluminum, paper and cardboard) in 1992 using a multi-stream system with green bins for containers and blue bins for paper and cardboard.  Since that time, our waste hauler has switched to a single-stream (or fully commingled) system and we have adjusted by re-labeling blue recycling bins and collecting all recyclables in these bins.
