2009 Results

UW-Whitewater participated in RecycleMania for the first time in 2009, competing against 297 schools in the Competition Division and 217 in the Benchmark Division for a total of 514 schools in the U.S., Canada and India. We also held a concurrent internal competition among Residence Hall complexes to see who could improve their overall recycling rate.

Our regional rival tables below include Competition and Benchmark Division schools. Since this classification clearly has an effect on measurement techniques and their final numbers, the Competition schools include their national rankings out of all Competition Division schools so we know who is held to higher standards of reporting.

Grand Champion – recycling percentage of overall waste stream: Out of 206 reporting schools in the Competition Division, we ranked 82^nd.
