Technology - It's a girl thing

CyberGirlz is a FREE day camp designed for incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls who are interested in learning more about computer technology. Campers are instructed by a combination of UW-Whitewater staff, students and IT professionals and participate in a number of fun activities which will introduce topics ranging from digital photography to programming and web design.

What will Campers Do?

Campers will be divided by grade level to complete activities. Sample topics are listed below:

6th grade:
Programming with Alice
Digital photography
Digital scrapbooking
Digital video
Web Design

7th grade:
Programming with Scratch
GPS navigation
Web Design

8th grade:
Programming with Advanced Scratch
Digital Message Board programming
HTML programming

In addition to the above technologies, campers will have the opportunity to participate in various presentations and on-campus field trips to learn about technology careers and how technology is used in everyday life.

When and Where?

When: July 22 & 23, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Where: UW-Whitewater, Hyland Hall - Whitewater, Wisconsin

Snacks and lunch will be provided each day.


Registration will begin in Apil 2014.
