Schedule for Semester

NCUR Presenters (Info below for UW-System presenters)

Jan. 28: If you have been accepted to NCUR and you still plan to go, you must confirm via the D2L Quiz. If you do not, we will not reserve a flight for you. Also, the final draft of your abstract (as submitted to NCUR) must be submitted to D2L (Jan. 30) if it is not already there--please check.

Feb. 20: NCUR attendees MUST electronically register for NCUR by this date. Please follow the detailed instructions on the link at the Undergraduate Research Program page (will be added by Feb. 11 at latest). Note that the URProgram pays your registration, by check.

March 12, 4-5pm, Andersen Library 2111 (Honors/Undergraduate Research—entrance from Main Mall): Poster-making workshop. Additional workshops can be scheduled if there is demand—just let McKinnon know.

March 18: Draft posters or presentations (powerpoint files) are due on D2L from all students presenting at Undergraduate Research Day and/or NCUR (need not include all data or otherwise be final, but should show good progress). Poster-making instructions are linked from the Undergraduate Research homepage. Check D2L daily for feedback from reviewers (definitely by March 21).

March 31: Last day (don't wait until then) to get your poster printed in time for Undergraduate Research Day.

April 2: Undergraduate Research Day: Students funded by the URProgram are required to present. Details are on the URP page.

April 7: Last day (don't wait until then) to get your poster printed in time for NCUR.

April 9-13: NCUR trip:
April 9: 11:50am: Assemble along Starin Road next to Upham Hall to board Van Galder bus. Be sure to get on URProgram bus rather than McNair bus, as McNair takes a different flight. Bus takes us to Mitchell Airport.
Flight: YX415 (Midwest) departs Milwaukee Mitchell 3:40pm; arrives Regan National Airport, Washington DC 6:20pm. We take charter bus to Microtel Inn and Suites, Salisbury MD.
(Note: McNair group: YX156 (Midwest) departs Mitchell 3:45pm, arrives Philadelphia 6:40pm; also charter bus to Salisbury)
April 10-12: attend conference; free shuttles will take us from hotel to conference sessions.
April 13: Bus pickup: Assemble at 5:45am at hotel, for bus to Regan Airport, DC.
Flight: YX402 departs Regan 11:00am; arrives Milwaukee Mitchell 11:50am. Bus from Mitchell arrives UWW Upham Hall parking lot approximately (assuming no flight delays, etc) 1:30pm; but plan for possible delays just in case.
(Note: McNair group bus leaves at 6:45am for 11:30am departure from Phil, YX151 (Midwest), arrives Milw 12:40pm. Bus arrives UWW Upham parking lot about 2:10pm).

Post-NCUR: Students and faculty will be asked to fill out web assessment forms.

April 29: Due date for next round of Undergraduate Research Grants.

Presenters for UW System Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity

Jan. 28: If your abstract has not already been reviewed and approved by the Undergraduate Research Program, please submit draft abstracts as WORD attachments to urp@uww.edu. Please format your abstract as described by the symposium organizers (details here).

Feb. 5: Once approved by your Undergraduate Research reviewer, please submit your abstract here. You will be contacted you if your abstract is accepted.

April 22: Last day (don't wait until then) to get your poster printed in time for the symposium.

April 24-25: UW-System Symposium Trip. We will depart late afternoon of April 24, return evening of April 25. Details will be announced later.

Post-symposium: Students and faculty will be asked to fill out web assessment forms.

April 29: Due date for next round of Undergraduate Research Grants.
