ACADEMIC STAFF COMMITTEES

Academic Staff Professional Development Committee

FUNCTION

To solicit proposals by academic staff members for funding of professional development activities; to establish the criteria by which proposals will be evaluated; to conduct the evaluations of proposals; and to make recommendations to the Academic Staff Assembly for transmittal to the Chancellor and Provost.

MEMBERSHIP

The committee consists of five members, no less than two instructional and no less than two non-instructional which elect a chair from their group. Committee members are ineligible to apply for professional development grants while serving on the committee. The liaison is separate from the committee and is responsible for initially convening the committee and reporting back to the Assembly on the committee activity.  The Research and Sponsored Programs Office is responsible for administrative oversight of the committee.

TERM

Two year staggered terms. Term expires July 1.
