This committee hears University discipline cases concerning academic dishonesty referred to it by the Assistant Dean of Student Life, faculty members, or students in an appeal of a faculty member's decision, concerning academic dishonesty. MEMBERSHIP
The Chancellor shall appoint a five member Academic Misconduct Hearing Tribunal consisting of three (3) faculty and two (2) students. The three faculty shall be appointed from persons recommended to the Chancellor by the Faculty Senate. The two students appointed shall be made by the Whitewater Student Government and forwarded to the Chancellor. If for any reason one of these primary student appointments is disqualified from the Tribunal, the Chancellor may select one of the four alternate students provided to him by the WSG. The Chancellor shall appoint one of the committee members to serve as the presiding officer, and a quorum shall be three (3) persons (including the presiding officer) and at least one student. Any faculty or student involved in the case is disqualified from sitting on the Tribunal in that case. Any other Tribunal member who cannot render impartial judgment in the case shall disqualify him/herself. Disqualified or non-available members shall be replaced by the Chancellor consistent with the section. The term of office is three (3) years for faculty and one (1) year for students.
