The Annual Club Planning Conference (ACPC) was held October 1, 2007 with the following in attendance: Linda Kinson, Barb Sigler, Lt. Governor Mark Glynn, Chris McClain, Tom Hinspater, Ann Wick, Kim Adams, Frank Bartlett, and Carol Miller. The meeting served a two-fold purpose – The ACPC and a Board of Directors meeting seeing there was a quorum.
Mark Glynn spoke on the region’s priorities and indicated that the Optimist Clubs need to do more for Childhood Cancer. Kim said that our club had given donations to the cause in the past.
Frank Bartlett went over the annual budget. On an Adams/Kinson motion, the budget was unanimously approved.
Annual events were reviewed. Discussion followed on who might chair each event.
The Pumpkin Patch activity is coming up and is chaired by Bruce Parker – a sign-up sheet should be distributed.
Membership was discussed. New members do not have to pay quarterly dues during the quarter they join the club. Tami Magsamen is a new member and Mary Taggert has dropped her membership. Chris McClain was approved as a new member on an Adams/Miller motion.
Chris will be involved with the Optimist website – making changes and keeping it up to date. Tom Hinspater would like the board minutes to be on the website rather than in the newsletter. He would like event reports added and archived. Upcoming guest speakers will be listed here. Sign-up sheets will also be located here.
Tom indicated that there will be no scheduled business meetings this year as attendance seems to drop for these meetings. Rather, club business will be conducted as needed during each weekly meeting. Members prefer to have programs. The schedule for district meetings was also discussed.
It was decided that board meetings would be held on the first Monday of the month at 4 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned.
