Who do I contact for help?
For help in establishing your Warhawk4Life account or logging in to the service, contact the TSC Helpdesk. For problems or questions using the service, please review Google's extensive online help at http://mail.google.com/support/?ctx=gmail&hl=en.
How do I enroll?
A description of the Warhawk4Life service and instructions for enrolling can be found at the Warhawk4Life home page.
How do I set this up to work in Outlook/Entourage/MacMail /My Phone etc.?
Your Warhawk4Life account is Web-based access only; use a Web browser to access this account.
I graduated before the Warhawk4Life service Started. Can I enroll now?
If you graduated in 2006 or later, and have maintained an active password for your UW-W Net-ID, just click the Sign-up button to request a W4L account.
If you graduated prior to 2006, you do not have a Net-ID in the new Warhawk4Life system. For now, please wait. UW-Whitewater will be working on a strategy to create Net-IDs for these alumni in the near future.
Why is my email address changing?
Only the domain portion of your address is changing. For example, if your UW-W student email is bachjs18@uww.edu, your Warhawk4Life email address will be: bachjs18@alumni.uww.edu. Your email domain is changing because your new Warhark4Life account is being created with Google. Since the account is hosted by Google and not the University, we cannot continue to use the same email address that was assigned to you while you were a student.
How long before my uww.edu email account is discontinued after I graduate?
Your uww.edu student email account will be active for approximately nine months after you graduate.
Does My Email Change After I Graduate If I Am Staying On Campus?
If you are staying in the UW-Whitewater campus community as a graduate student, employee or enrolled in a different program, your student email account will not change, and you do not need to take any action. You may continue to use your UW-Whitewater email account as long as you remain part of the campus community.
Will all my emails get moved when the address changes?
Your emails will not be migrated from UW-Whitewater's email system to Google when your Warhawk4Life account is created. You can, however, configure your Warhawk4Life account to fetch mail automatically from up to five other accounts, including UW-Whitewater's email system. Instructions for doing so are below:
- Log into Google Apps by selecting login link at http://www.uww.edu/warhawk4life
- Select "Settings" in the upper righthand corner of the page
- Select the "Accounts" tab
- Click the link labeled "Add a mail account you own"
- Enter your UW-W email address (netid@uww.edu)
- Enter your netid password
- Confirm that the POP server is set to "post.uww.edu" and the port is set to 110.
- Select "Save Changes"
- When prompted whether you would like to be able to send mail through this account, select "no".
- Select "Finish"
After a few minutes, mail from your existing UW-W account should begin to arrive in your Gmail inbox.
Will my emails be forwarded to my new W4L account?
If you have opened a Warhawk4Life account, your emails will be forwarded to that new account after the old student account is closed (three to four months after you graduate). After your student account is closed, your emails will be forwarded to your new W4L account for up to five years. If you did not open a W4L email account, your emails will not be forwarded.
What if I don't want my email account anymore?
If you have not yet enrolled for the Warhawk4Life service and you do not wish to participate, simply do nothing. Your UW-Whitewater email account will expire approximately nine months after your graduation date.
If you have enrolled for the Warhawk4Life service and have decided that you do not wish to use the service any longer, contact the TSC Helpdesk to request that your service be discontinued.
Why do I have to change my password?
The Warhawk4Life service uses your campus Net-Id and password, and is subject to campus Net-Id and network use policies. These policies are available at http://www.uww.edu/icit/governance/policies.
To ensure that your password remains secure over time, you must change it every six months. You can change your password at https://password.uww.edu.
What if I forgot my password?
You can reset your own password at https://password.uww.edu. If you are unable to reset your own password, you can contact the TSC Helpdesk.
How much storage do I get?
Google provides a large amount of storage for users of this service. At the time that this FAQ was published, the amount was over 7 GB per mailbox.
