Why UW-Whitewater
ROBERT BENJAMIN
I teach because I believe everyone should understand physics.
I teach because I want people to appreciate the underlying beauty and simplicity of nature.
I teach because physics is "uncommon sense."
I teach because I'm a bit of a ham.
I teach because it gives me a chance to lie on a bed of nails, spin a bicycle tire filled with concrete, charge people up to 100,000 volts, and inform students with tales of the galaxy.
I teach for that moment when students find they can answer questions they never knew they had.
I teach because the future of our technological society depends on citizens who understand the basis of technology.
I teach because, as I like to say, the robots are our future... and someone has to teach the people who build the robots!
I teach because I can't help myself-it's who I am.
Why I Teach...
