Paul PlinskeFootball fans visiting Indianapolis for the NFL championship will get to see gear from the NCAA Div. III national champion UW-Whitewater Warhawks.

A #1 jersey and championship trophy are on display at the NCAA Hall of Champions, which is expecting many visitors during the Super Bowl festivities.

Athletic Director Paul Plinske delivered the items over the weekend.

"What a proud moment for me, both personally and professionally! To be able to hand-deliver our trophy to the NCAA for display at the Super Bowl is pretty special," said Plinske. "It shows how significant we really are among the 1,200 schools that participate in the NCAA. I couldn't be more proud to be a Warhawk."

In December, the Warhawks won their third consecutive national championship and fourth in five years.  The win extended UW-Whitewater's win streak, the longest active string in college football, to 45 games - the fifth longest win streak in the history of NCAA football.

The NCAA Hall of Champions will display the trophy and Warhawk jersey along with those of the Division I and II champions until June.
