Front lobby
The Front Lobby is a truly versatile area having housed everything from a wedding reception for 200, to the World's Affairs Seminar registration. The Three multi-purpose areas are each equipped with phone and internet connections to provide for varied uses. Traditionally, the left side is used for event night box office, the middle is used for our pernament gift shops, and the right is used for concessions.

Coat Check
The section in the Front Lobby reserved for the Coat Check is collapsible in order to accommodate your activity, and as it is accessible to phone internet connections, it can also be used as a center of operations area.

Kachel Center
The Kachel Center, located next to the Young Auditorium, can function as a space within itself for those who would need to separate themselves from the main auditorium.
The center is equipped with a 32 ft. x 68 ft. sprung hardwood floor identical to that of the auditorium's stage, as well as adjustable lighting. This facility has been used to host banquets and receptions, and is available as a rehearsal space for performers.

Gift Shop
Bring the spirit of the Young Auditorium home with you when you visit the Gift Shop located in the lobby. A wide assortment of unique items is on display.

Fern Young Terrace
The Fern Young Terrace, located on the second floor of the Young Auditorium is available for a variety of events such as sit-down or buffet style dinners, lectures, and weddings.
Currently, the Terrace is used for our popular pre-show Sound Bites and has housed the Wisconsin School for the Deaf junior prom. If you are interested in the many amenities of the Fern Young Terrace for renting purposes, click on Fern Young Terrace Rental Information.

Stage
The auditorium's Stage space consists of a 46 ft. wide x 27 ft. high proscenium opening, a deck that measures 95 ft. 4 in. x 41 ft. 9 in. from the plaster line to the back wall, and an apron that measures 46 ft.x 5 ft. 2 in. from the plaster line to the edge of the orchestra pit. The orchestra pit itself measures 40 ft., and is adjustable to a maximum of 8 ft. below the stage level. The apron overhangs the upstage wall of the pit by 4 ft. The floor is a new sprung oak floor with a dark finish and contains no traps. No penetrations of the floor will be allowed. The auditorium also has a black 59 ft. x 39 ft. dance floor.
