Thornton Wilder's Our Town takes place in the fictional average town of Grovers Corners in the year 1901. The UW-Whitewater Theatre Department production is directed by professor James Buchart. This exciting collaboration features Emmy Award winning actor John McGivern in the role of the Stage Manager. The Stage Manager narrates the story and interacts directly with the audience breaking the fourth wall of the theatre. We meet Emily Webb and George Gibb who are sweethearts and neighbors and witness the daily lives of these normal but interesting folks. The play examines everyday life, love and marriage, and death and eternity. This Pulitzer Prize winning play is the recipient of numerous awards. Don't miss Thornton Wilder's masterpiece Our Town.
