UW-Whitewater Faculty Present: Musical Encounters
The Nutcracker is a truly beautiful ballet, but much of its beauty comes from the music that Tchaikovsky composed. How did he do it? Why does it work so well? Come explore Tchaikovsky's compositional genius in this interactive session with UW-W faculty and students.
The Musical Encounters concert series is a collaboration of the UW-Whitewater Music Faculty and Young Auditorium. This mission of the program is to expose students to classical music by linking it thematically to the curriculum and the Horizons School Matinee Series performances. Each ½ hour concert is arranged, performed and narrated by UW-Whitewater music faculty and students.
The concerts are free for teachers and students who attend the corresponding Horizons performances. Please make your request for concert reservations at the same time that you reserve seats for Horizons by calling 262-472-4444. Reserve early - seating is limited. Call Young Auditorium's Education and Outreach Coordinator (262-472-1432) for more information.
