Pathway for Success
Overview
The Pathway for Success program demonstrates UW-Whitewater's commitment of ensuring the academic success of students by providing additional support and assistance during the critical first year of their degree program. A committee selects students based on all application materials. Students selected for Pathway for Success show potential that the committee believes can be expanded upon through the additional support provided.
The program supports students through:
- Weekly check-ins with an Academic Advisor through a New Student Seminar course
- Classes designed to build academic skills and knowledge of available resources on campus
- Social events to build community and create a sense of belonging to campus
- Embeds academic support opportunities throughout the semester
Students will be advised by Pathway for Success advisors in the Academic Advising & Exploration Center (AAEC) for two semesters. Students will interact with their Pathway for Success advisors and peers through individual meetings, classroom presentations, group meetings, Pathway for Success sponsored events, and the New Student Seminar course.

You have been admitted to UW-Whitewater because we think you would make a great addition to our university butwe also see a need to build upon the academic skills required to be successful in college. The program is designed to help you build a strong academic foundation to help you succeed in the classroom and beyond.
Classes at UW-Whitewater lower than level 100 do not count towards graduation but do count towards full-time status (which can impact living in the residence halls and financial aid). Students will be placed into Math and English courses based on placement tests or ACT/SAT scores.
