Your success in finding money is only limited to your willingness to "do your homework" and fill out as many application forms as you qualify for.
*If you will be working while going to school have a conversation with your boss to discuss a flexible work schedule to accomodate your classes and possible employer tuition reimbursement options.
Paying for a college education can often be made affordable through financial aid loans, grants and scholarship opportunities. Put together a list of scholarships and their deadlines and dedicate regularly scheduled time to complete applications. Remember, one hour of your time could mean $250 in scholarships (or more).
UW-Whitewater Scholarship Opportunities
UW-Whitewater is pleased to announce the online scholarship application period begins December 1. More than 200 scholarships are available! To apply for a scholarship go to http://www.uww.edu/scholarships (Scholarships). Only currently enrolled UW-Whitewater students with a Net-ID can apply.
Dr. Ernella S. Hunziker Scholarship
Scholarship for Returning Women Students
This scholarship was made possible by Dr. Ernella S. Hunziker, UW-W professor in Art and Education from 1963 to 1990. UW-W full-time students' (12 credits or more) scholarships are up to $3,000 per academic year, payable over two semesters. UW-W half-time students' (6-11.5 credits) scholarship awards are $1,500 per academic year, payable over two semesters. Payment of the scholarship will be made directly to UW-Whitewater, not the recipient, to be applied toward payment of tuition.

Eligibility
All applicants must:
- Be female.
- Be at least 24 years old.
- Be in need of financial assistance.
- Be working towards their first undergraduate degree.
- Have completed 45 (or more) credits towards their first undergraduate degree, of which a minimum of 12 credits completed at UW-Whitewater.
- Have earned a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
First Time Applicants:
Please submit the following materials (make sure each page has your name on it):
- A completed application-financial need form. You may include additional information that will assist the committee in determining your financial need in addition to the Expected Family Contribution as analyzed by the federal processor when applying for financial aid (FAFSA) and your Adjusted Gross Income from 2023 on the application.
- A one-page, typewritten (double spaced) statement about your educational and career goals. Including leadership campus or community involvement, and community service.
- A resume, please highlight campus and/or community involvement (if you need assistance with your resume, contact Career & Leadership Development 262-472-1471)
- Reference page: Attach contact information of both work and service references.
- Complete college/higher education transcripts or an Academic Advisement Report (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
- Recommendation letters from two individuals addressing your character, academic ability, and potential for success in your chosen field. ONE reference must be from a past or present UW-W faculty/staff member.
- Acceptable references are professors, previous employers, previous volunteer supervisors, etc.
- Unacceptable references are parents, family members, or friends
- Recommendations are due with application BEFORE deadline Tuesday, February 27, 2024 (any being received after the deadline will NOT be reviewed)

Renewal Candidates:
The scholarship is renewable for up to six semesters. Students currently holding the scholarship who seek renewal must submit the following: (Please make sure each page has your name on it)
- Letter requesting renewal (typed).
- A completed application - financial need form
- Statement of continued financial need. You may include additional information that will assist the committee in determining your financial need.
- Expected Family Contribution
- Adjusted Gross Income from 2023
- Complete college/higher education transcripts or Academic Advisement Report (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
- Two-page, typewritten (double spaced) statement of accomplishments while receiving the scholarship. Highlight your academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, campus/community involvement, community service and career goals.

Jaycees of Wisconsin Foundation
In 1993, a scholarship fund was established and named to honor Denise Bertucci, an outstanding Jaycee who died in 1992 after a courageous battle with cancer. The Denise Bertucci Memorial Scholarship are scholarship(s) meant for the nontraditional students - those returning to school after a break in their formal education. The Bertucci Scholarship fund is at $1,000.00, and the Scholarship Committee will review all applications received and award the funds accordingly.

U.S. Army Women's Foundation Legacy Scholarships
The U.S. Army Women's Foundation is the premier center for educational excellence, the national network for today's Army women and a dynamic advocate for telling the history of Army women.
The Foundation Legacy Scholarship program recognizes the importance of education and helping recipients to achieve their educational goals. The Legacy Scholarship program offers financial support toward community college coursework and undergraduate degrees to Army women and their lineal descendents. Scholarships are based on merit, academic potential, community service and need.
The Legacy Scholarships are available for tuition assistance at the community college level or four year academic institutions. At this time, scholarships for graduate work and/or additional undergraduate degree are not part of the program
- Community College/Certificate Program Legacy Scholarships will be awarded up to $1,000.
- College/University Legacy Scholarships will be awarded up to $2,500.
