Assessment of student learning is an essential element of continuous program improvement, and programs are increasingly being asked to provide evidence of student learning. UW-Whitewater programs have made excellent progress in collecting data, but faculty/staff tell us that they need time and support to "close the assessment loop"
The UW-Whitewater Assessment Institute provides information, examples, time, and support as programs develop action plans for sustainable assessment-with particular emphasis on productive discussion and use of their data. Teams of participants review their programs' current assessment status, learn about best practices in assessment, and develop action plans-all while building a network of colleagues to support their efforts.
