Her writing appears in Rock Music Studies, a number of essay collections, and the Latin American Music Review.
Prior to her time at UW-W, Dr. Bauer spent three years as Director of Instrumental Music at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Before moving to Wyoming, she taught courses in music at Western Nebraska Community College and Mt. San Antonio College in Southern California.
