Moran-Handzlik is an award-winning painter who has been invited to exhibit in international, national, regional, and local exhibitions. She is devoted to her work with our UW-Whitewater students. Bethann delivers dynamic courses, mentors Undergraduate Research Students, Research Apprentice Students, and volunteers in a variety of academic and artistic capacities on campus and in the community. In 2019, she received the College of Arts and Communications Teaching Excellence Award and in 2020 she received the University Academic Staff Excellence Award. Her work in the classroom and in the community exemplify the Wisconsin Idea and honor the mission of University of Wisconsin Whitewater.

Bethann is married to the poet Patrick Moran, a UWW Professor Department Languages & Literature and together they have 3 wonderful children.
