• Are you a high school junior thinking about majoring in music in college?
• Do you have questions about the audition process?
• Are you interested in improving your preparation and performance for college and other auditions?
High school juniors and their parents are invited to attend this free event for prospective music majors. Participants will have the opportunity to perform a mock audition for UW-W music faculty in their area and receive feedback on their performances. Informative sessions on audition preparation, participatory clinics to improve audition performance, and master classes with studio faculty will also be offered.

Leanne League, UW-Whitewater Violin Professor, will guide you through techniques and strategies to manage performance anxiety and help you give your best audition.
11:30-12:00 p.m. Motivating Yourself to Practice . . . every day
Do you have difficulty motivating yourself to practice, whether occasionally or all the time? In this session, Dr. Benjamin Whitcomb, UW-Whitewater Cello Professor, will share a variety of tips and strategies for successfully making yourself practice-and even to enjoy it!
11:30-12:00 p.m. Auditions, Auditions!: Prepare Yourself
College auditions, ensemble auditions, and competition auditions! From creating preparation timelines to improving your mindset in all audition situations, Dr. Christopher Ramaekers, UW-Whitewater's Director of Orchestras, will share practical tips for how to best prepare for all types of auditions.

Please note: Lunch is not provided. There is a food service conveniently located in the Atrium of the Greenhill Center of the Arts that serves breakfast and lunch items and there are also several restaurants within walking distance of the building.
