The Whitewater Symphony Orchestra is the flagship orchestra at UW-W. The WSO is a full orchestra and includes woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings. Membership in the WSO is open to any student on campus, through an audition which takes place every semester.

In addition to performing 2-3 concerts each semester, the Symphony Orchestra tours semi-annually. Repertoire selections focus on standard symphonic masterworks, but include a variety of works from the classical period to modern day. Each year student concerto soloists are selected to perform with the orchestras through the annual concerto competition and members of the music faculty at UW-Whitewater make guest solo appearances with the orchestras.

Rehearsal Schedule: Weekly, Tuesday and Thursday: 3:30 pm - 5:10 pm

Conductor: Christopher Ramaekers

The Chamber Orchestra is a select string ensemble that performs works fro the Baroque through present day. Membership is open to any student on campus, however an ability to learn repertoire quickly and outside of rehearsal is necessary.

The Chamber Orchestra performs in concerts by themselves as well as alongside the Symphony Orchestra, and is occasionally supplemented with minds, brass, and percussion as needed. The Chamber Orchestra also participates in the annual concerto competition which highlights solo talent from among UW-Whitewater music majors.

Rehearsal Schedule: Weekly, Tuesday and Thursday: 5:30-6:20
