2020 Interdisciplinary Collaboration Award for the College of Arts and Communication

Bethann Handzlik-Moran and Benjamin Whitcomb

“Bach Suites for Cello: A Relational Performance Aural and Visual," a collaboration between music professor Benjamin Whitcomb, cellist and lecturer Bethann Moran Handzlik, painter. Whitcomb will perform the Bach Suites for Cello and Moran Handzlik will respond to the music by painting. This allows for both a musical and visual interpretation of the Bach Cello Suite.

September 22th from 10:00 am - 11:30 am in the Nature Preserve (rain date: September 24)

The Nature preserve is located next to Perkins stadium and runs along West Schwager Drive and Fremont Road.



2020 Faculty Initiatives in International/Intercultural Research, Scholarship and Teaching

Jeff Herriott

Dr. Herriott's proposal was to work with the Black Forest Percussion Group, located in Germany, in preparation for the European Premiere of his work, The Stone Tapestry in April 2020. The proposal date has been pushed back to allow for the pandemic to pass.
