Event Description:  Traditionally, a Career Trek is a site visit that companies provide. It’s a unique chance to learn about a company of interest, any job or internship opportunities they have available, and what they might look for in candidates that apply. The Career Services Offices across the UW-System have teamed up to provide over 60 Virtual Career Treks since Fall 2020. For the 2022-2023 academic year, Virtual Career Treks will be hosted every Tuesday at 2:00 PM. Attending a Virtual Career trek is an opportunity to engage with industry professionals, expand your network, and increase your awareness of career possibilities. Cintas is currently seeking a Management Trainee to participate in an extensive, well-structured 15-month training program designed to provide a strong knowledge of all aspects of our business. The Management Trainee program combines a series of rotations in various departments and classroom seminars, with the purpose of preparing you for a leadership role in the area that maximizes their strengths and career advancement potential.

  Rotation Descriptions:

  • Service/Operations Rotation: Direct interaction with customers on route will enhance your sales, communication, and customer service skills. Plus, this hands-on field experience also gives you the opportunity to work with all partners to explore Cintas from the ground floor.
  • Warehouse/Production Rotation: By discovering exactly how we provide our products and services to our customers, you'll develop your process management and inventory control skill set.
  • Office Rotation: A great rotation for developing financial and administrative skills. You'll benefit from insight into fundamental business practices such as invoicing procedures, new account set up, staff meeting protocol, financial statement mastery, and more.
  • Sales Rotation: Cintas has consistently been ranked one of the best companies to sell for and this rotation gives you a firsthand view of how we earn this accolade. You'll benefit from direct guidance on how to generate new business with sharpened sales, platform, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Classroom Seminars: Throughout your program, you will have the opportunity to attend numerous professional development courses to improve your overall business acumen and your personal brand. Courses include (but not limited to): Six Sigma Green Belt, Core Course, Emotional Intelligence, Smith Drivers Training, The Spirit is the Difference- Leading a Diverse and Inclusive Workforce, and Requirement Based Selling Techniques Course.

UW System Career Treks

Event Description:  Stop by our in-person Resume Doctor event for a FREE resume check up in preparation for the Spring Hawk Career Fair!  Career Services staff will provide a quick review of your resume with suggestions for improvements.   There is no preregistration for this event, just stop by with your resume!

Students in need of professional attire will also have an opportunity to “shop” the Warhawk Success Closet for free professional clothing options after the presentation.

All Occupational Safety students are welcome to attend.

Event Description: Students will have the opportunity to schedule a 30-minute Practice Interview with a recruiter from one of our employer sponsor partners. The Practice Interview will consist of approximately 20-minutes of standard/common interview questions, followed by approximately 10-minutes of advice and feedback regarding responses. There will be Virtual Practice Interviews and On-Campus/In-Person Practice Interviews available.
