Event Description:  Traditionally, a Career Trek is a site visit that companies provide. It’s a unique chance to learn about a company of interest, any job or internship opportunities they have available, and what they might look for in candidates that apply. The Career Services Offices across the UW-System have teamed up to provide a total of 26 Virtual Career Treks during the 2020-2021 academic year, and this initiative will continue in the fall of 2022. For the 2022-2023 academic year, Virtual Career Treks will be hosted every Tuesday at 2:00 PM. Attending a Virtual Career trek is an opportunity to engage with industry professionals, expand your network, and increase your awareness of career possibilities. Event Description: Students will have the opportunity to schedule a 30-minute Practice Interview with a recruiter from one of our employer sponsor partners. The Practice Interview will consist of approximately 20-minutes of standard/common interview questions, followed by approximately 10-minutes of advice and feedback regarding responses. There will be Virtual Practice Interviews and On-Campus/In-Person Practice Interviews available.

  1. Visit the "job posting" in Handshake for the date you want to participate & login to Handshake - Tuesday 11/8 (virtual) with Uline - click here- Wednesday 11/9 (in-person) with Lavelle & Cintas - click here
  2. Click "Quick Apply" and submit your current resume
  3. Select your preferred interview time and click on "Take Slot"
  4. Watch for an email with additional information the day before your practice interview

Helpful Tips:

  • Treat this practice interview as if it is a real interview
  • Wear clothes that you would wear to an interview
  • Answer questions as if you were really applying for a job for this company and want to make the best impression

Representatives from CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) will be on-campus to network with students, share details about their open job opportunities and provide information about their Early Career Connections Program and the importance of having a mentor throughout your career.

The UW-Whitewater Finance Department and the Financial Management Association will be hosting the annual “Finance Day” event. This year’s program will feature nearly 20 speakers and will include 5 employer panel sessions (topics include Banking, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning, Investments, and Real Estate). After each panel session there will be an opportunity for students to network with the speakers individually.
