Brian Schanen

Brian graduated from UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Art in Communication in 2015 and a Master of Science in Communication in 2017.  He is now a lecturer at UW-Whitewater teaching courses in public speaking and persuasion.  Brian joined the team as a freshman in 2011, and as a coach in 2015.  As a competitor, Brian competed in persuasion, critical analysis, impromptu and extemporaneous speaking.  Brian attended Port Washington High School where he competed in radio.  As a collegiate competitor Brian made two national quarter-finals, and as a coach has had a hand in developing numerous national quarter-finalists, semi-finalists and finalists.
