Online Adult String Academy

$50 per 60-minute lesson.   The teacher will schedule 60-minute individual lessons.   Repertoire and etudes will be chosen according to the student's interest and abilities.  All levels are welcome.

Note: Upon receipt of your registration, the coordinator will contact you to set up private lesson times

Fees Include

The event fee includes one (1) 60 minute lesson and insurance.  

Missed Lesson

A two-day notice must be given to the teacher if a lesson must be missed.  The lesson will then be rescheduled as agreed upon by both teacher and student.  If a lesson is missed without prior notice, the lesson may not be rescheduled. All cancellation requests must be submitted to chandles@uww.edu; provide registrant's name and event session. 

Received an Award, Sponsorship or Discount?

For those participants who will be receiving a sponsorship to attend this event: Register and use the promo code your sponsor gave you. The sponsorship will be deducted from your invoice.  Any remaining balance remains the participant's responsibility. Any cancellations will result in the sponsorship funds being returned to the supporting organization.

Any qualifying discounts given by the event will not be applied after you have paid in full. Be sure to use the promo code at check out to receive your discount. You will be charged if you do not qualify for requested discount at the start of event.

A processing fee will be assessed if a refund is issued due to overpayment on your account.

Want to Sponsor a Registrant?

You can sponsor a registrant and cover all or partial fees. We have received requests in the past from schools, companies, organizations, friends and family members that would like to send their chosen registrant to a specific event. If you would like to sponsor a registrant, you can request a promo code that you may give to your chosen registrant. Click here for more details.

Confirmation Emails

Once you register a confirmation email will be sent to your email account. Contact cesevents@uww.edu if you do not receive this confirmation email. Historically email accounts used from centurytel.net, SBC Global and wi.rr.com are blocked from receiving  notifications from us or may end up in your spam folder. You are able to register using these accounts; however, you will not receive emails from us. Please make sure you have a working email address on file with us to be able to receive important announcements and updates about this event.

Staff

Leanne League, Co-Director

Leanne League teaches violin and viola at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Leanne was named the 2010 Teacher of the Year by the Wisconsin chapter of the American String Teachers Association. She has given master classes and clinics throughout the Midwest at both high schools and universities. Sought after as a performer in many different roles, Leanne is the associate concertmaster of the Madison Symphony, the assistant concertmaster of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and a member of the UW-Whitewater Piano Trio.

Susan Chandler, Co-Director

Susan Chandler has been a member of the teaching faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater since 2009. She teaches String Pedagogy, String Techniques, multiple Music Education Methods courses and supervises student teachers. She is a Master Level Adjudicator for the Wisconsin Music School Association and a frequent guest clinician with school orchestras throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Susan retired as Director of Orchestras from the Kettle Moraine School District, where she taught for 23 years leading her orchestras on international tours to England, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand and within the United States to multiple state and regional music conferences.
