Have you ever stopped and considered the images and pressures we go through every day? Anger. Hatred. Division. Violence. Revenge. We may feel them pressing in. We may feel overwhelmed. We can find another way. Forgiveness. We can change the way we think, act and feel. We get to choose how we are influenced by the pressures from the past or react to our present pressures. Forgiveness gives us a new way to view the people around us, and ourselves, that is respectful, honoring, and merciful. Based on the work of Dr. Robert Enright and the International Forgiveness Institute, we will learn to recognize the forces pressing in on us and how we can change the way we react. We can live a forgiving life, but we have to choose to start.
In this 6-week class you will learn to:
- Identify the pressures, past and present, that are influencing how we live.
- Identify the Enright Process Model of Forgiveness
- Practice the skills needed to forgive

Cancellations and payments: All registrant accounts must be paid in full 21 days prior to the start of the event. Registrants with outstanding balances after payment is due in full are subject to being removed from the event roster without a refund. Please contact Continuing Education Services at cesevents@uww.edu prior to this deadline if extenuating circumstances prevent you from completing a payment.
Refunds: In the event of a cancellation, Continuing Education Services should be notified no later than 21 days before the start of the event to receive a refund, less the 20% administration fee. Cancellation requests received less than 21 days from the start of camp will receive a refund minus a 50% late cancellation fee. Cancellations due to medical reasons will receive a full refund, less the 20% administration fee if the cancellation is requested and medical documentation is provided prior to the start of the event. Valid medical cancellations must include a signed letter from a licensed physician to qualify. NO REFUNDS will be given for withdrawal due to early departures, disciplinary reasons, or no-shows after the camp has started.
All cancellation requests must be submitted to cesevents@uww.edu; provide the registrant’s name, camp title, and medical documentation, if applicable. Refunds will be returned to the name and address of the payer.
We reserve the right to cancel any event for any reason; in such case, all fees paid will be refunded, or contact cesevents@uww.edu for alternate arrangements.

Meet your instructor
Timothy Markle
Tim Markle is founder and director of Forgiveness Factor. Forgiveness Factor exists to promote forgiveness as a way to live mentally well. Tim teaches classes, workshops, seminars and speaks about forgiveness, suicide prevention, and addiction recovery in Wisconsin and nationally. Most recently, Tim spoke at the Suicide Prevention Conference in La Crosse and at the National Federation of Families Conference in Oklahoma City. He regularly partners with Stoughton Health to teach a 6-week course on Freedom Through Forgiveness and can be heard Tuesday mornings on Life 102.5FM. Tim brings a unique perspective through sharing his personal journey through childhood trauma, alcoholism, betrayals, misunderstandings, mental health challenges, and life. He is a speaker and contributing writer for the International Forgiveness Institute. In July of 2022, Tim was presented with the Healing Hearts Hero Award at the International Agape Love and Forgiveness Conference for “his years of commitment to helping others learn about the virtues of self-forgiveness and interpersonal forgiveness.” Tim is married, has two adult children and lives in Stoughton, WI. Forgiveness is what he does for fun as he is employed by the Waisman Center at UW-Madison as an Outreach Manager. In his outreach role, Tim is the Director of the Southern Regional Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs, Co-Leader of the Wisconsin Youth Health Transition Initiative, and Family Discipline Coordinator for the Wisconsin Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities Training Program. Parking
Parking permits are not required at the Community Engagement Center. Limited parking is available in the small lot between the CEC and the hotel (outlined in yellow, click map below). More parking is available behind the building (outlined in red, click map below) by using the access road on westside of the building (shown in red). Visitors may also access the back lot by taking West Yoder Lane. Please consider parking in the back lot so those with mobility concerns can use the stalls in the small front lot.
By registering for an event, you agree to our Registration Terms and Conditions. UW-Whitewater will hold all registrants responsible for their conduct. Serious misconduct or disruption will lead to immediate dismissal from event. Registrants dismissed from the event will not receive a refund. Please review the Terms and Conditions for more details.
Be aware that we recommend that all portable electronic devices be left at home, but ultimately it is your decision. We know that parents and children value the ability to be able to call each other at a moment's notice. For that reason, we do not prohibit cell phones at camp, but ask that cell phone use does not interfere with the event and other participants. Parents are responsible for setting clear guidelines for cell use with their child. We will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Insurance
Registrants are encouraged to have their own health insurance as accident insurance provided by the University is limited. Each registrant will be covered by a limited accident insurance policy. The insurance includes primary coverage up to $10,000. Insurance does not cover pre-existing injuries and is for accidents only. The cost of insurance is included in the registration fee.
