Hello there,
I Received a B.Sc. in Physics in 1993, and then a M.Sc. in solid-state physics in 1997, I worked as a high school teacher for 3 years, then I came to the United States in 1999. The year after, I received a MA in Physics. I joined the doctoral program in Materials Engineering at Washington State University in 2001. My research focus was crystal growth of optoelectronic materials. I graduated in 2007. I worked at Gonzaga University for two years as a physics faculty, then I came to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UWW) in 2009 as tenure track faculty in the physics department.
My Current research projects are diverse. My students and I are involved in using a plasma reactor to fabricate bio-compatible materials to be used as stints and screws inside the human body. Another project involves automating a furnace using LabView to grow crystals. We are also characterizing the optical and electrical properties of some single crystals (TeO2, YAG, Te2ZnO3, Te3ZnO8, and others). I am personally working on a project to control drones with Python coding. I am open to work with student with ideas. If you have one, please drop by or send me an email. you never know, your idea may worth a billion dollars.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Washington State University, Pullman, WA
Postdoctoral Position, 2007
Managed original experiment design for development of GGG crystal growth and successfully grew Ce:GGG, ZnO-TeO2, Nd:YAG, and PMN-PT crystals for application in solar cells and scintillators for radiation and charged particle detection. Applied skills in project design, equipment specification, field troubleshooting, process design, and safety analysis.
Washington State University, Pullman, WA
Graduate Student Researcher, 2002-2006
Evaluated emerging technologies in advanced materials research, specifically crystal growth of ZnO-TeO2 solar cells and effects of doping well-grown GGG and YAG crystals. Performed absorption and transmission measurements, scanning electron microprobe, powder x-ray diffraction, single crystal x-ray diffraction, solarization and polarization, and utilized Origin, JADE CrystalDiffract, and CrystalMaker.
Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD
Research Assistant, 2001
Researched sleep behavior in hospital patients in anesthesiology and critical care medicine study and modeled nerve cell signaling throughout the body.
