Global Revision Workbook Step Two

Reverse outlining is an effective revision strategy that allows you to focus on the basic structure of your argument and identify sections you might need to revise, expand, or cut. Even the best writers benefit from reverse outlining, since it’s rare to produce a well-argued, well-organized, complex analysis in a first draft. The reverse outline can help you reach those goals. Now, in step two of the worksheet, summarize the main point for each body paragraph in your essay and give an explanation of how each supports your thesis. Don’t worry about your conclusion for the moment. When you’re finished, you can click on “Step Three” in the navigation panel.
