I currently serve as the chair of the Biology Department. In this capacity I am the primary person that helps Biology students and I represent the Biology faculty.
I am a Wisconsin native, growing up in the central sands of WI, where I became interested in Biology. I attended the UW-Madison, where I got my PhD in Entomology (the study of insects).
Research Interests: Insect biodiversity, their natural history and identification. My primary work is focused on a large group of scarab beetles called the Macrodactylini. I also have interests in several other beetle, true bug and fly groups. Students in my lab have also worked on conservation and restoration ecology projects involving insects.
