Sara received her BFA in Performance here at UW-Whitewater in 2007, before going on to get her MFA at the University of Delaware’s Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) in 2011. She is a proud member of the Actor’s Equity Association and has performed in over 35 professional productions at theaters such as The Kennedy Center, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Chicago Shakespeare, Northlight Theatre, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Resident Ensemble Players and more. She has worked on the classics (namely Shakespeare), new adaptations, as well as world premieres, originating the lead role for Theresa Rebeck's O Beautiful.

Teaching affords Sara the opportunity to facilitate her favorite thing about learning, the "lightbulb moment". It's a wonderful thing to see a student gain understanding of and excitement about something that was previously beyond them, something that, in some cases, they never thought was possible for them.

"I believe that Theatre has the power to change the world. A story told on stage is a full sensory experience, one that allows teller and receiver to share energy and breath. I have witnessed stories shared this way create sympathy, empathy, and tolerance. I don't think there is anything more immediately necessary to a world so divided."
