Bio:
Jeffery S. Heinrich, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and has in the past served as department chair. Before coming to UWW, Dr. Heinrich held a Visiting Assistant Professor position at Wabash College in Indiana.
Dr. Heinrich’s research has wandered broadly, all generally classified as applied microeconomics. Early work was in the field of international economics, with subsequent articles on the productivity of Ph.D. recipients, the impact on interest rates when credit unions convert to for-profit banks, a few papers on decomposing property values by property characteristics, and most recently work estimating the elasticity of demand for tap water. Upcoming work concerns the property value impact of broadband internet access.
Dr. Heinrich has taught a broad array of courses including Principles of Micro and Macroeconomics (201 and 202), International Economics (401), Economics of Globalization (431), Environmental and Natural Resource Economics (471), graduate Economics Foundations (704), Advanced International Economics (758), and the UWW General Education Core course Global Perspectives (GENED 140).
