Nancy Ran Tao, Ph.D., is Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. She is also a research associate at the Claremont Institute for Economic Policy Studies. Her areas of specialization include financial economics, banking, industrial organization, game theory, econometrics, and computational economics.
Dr. Tao’s current research focuses on the efficiency of the financial markets. Her recent research projects and working papers examine the price differentials of cross-listed stocks, peer to peer lending, and credit union lending practices. Her past teaching and research positions include Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, Claremont Graduate University, and research associate at the National Development and Reform Commission in Beijing, China. Dr. Tao received Ph.D. in Economics from Claremont Graduate University and M.Sc. in Operational Research from Lancaster University, United Kingdom.
Dr. Tao’s teaching experience includes Business Statistics (Econ 245) (both traditional and online courses), Principles of Microeconomics (Econ 201) (both traditional and online courses) Industrial Organization and Competitive Strategies (Econ 441) and Game Theory (Econ 442).
