Dr. Xu is an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. In theory, Dr. Xu concentrates on social network theory and theories of identity. In his research, he seeks to answer two primary research questions: 1) How and why do identity and interorganizational networks differentiate organizations in markets?; 2) How do emerging technologies/industry segments stratify organizations in markets? His research is grounded in various contexts, such as venture capital, high-tech IPOs, founding teams/Top management teams, and diversity. Dr. Xu currently serves as the reviewers for many prestigious academic Journals, such as Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies, and New England Journal of Entrepreneurship. Lei will serve on the editorial board of New England Journal of Entrepreneurship starting in September, 2020.
