Freshmen (students who have earned fewer than 24 credits) are advised in the Academic Advising and Exploration Center: 262-472-5220.
If you are a new transfer student and have not registered for your first semester at Whitewater, you need to attend a registration/orientation day (Warhawks SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration)) prior to registering for your classes. You may sign up for Warhawks SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration) online, using the link provided under “Already Admitted.”
If you have 24 or more credits and have not been admitted to the upper division courses, you will have an advising hold on your registration until you attend an advising/registration information meeting, either one-on-one or a group meeting. Therefore, in order to register on time during priority registration, you must attend a meeting.
Students who have not been admitted to the upper division business courses will receive an email in the first month of the semester detailing session options and registration procedures. This information is also available within your Desire 2 Learn (D2L) account. D2L will also be the course platform used to supplement your on campus classes and to serve as the main course site for your online classes. You can find a link to D2L on the www.uww.edu main page in the upper right corner. If you have any questions about the advising process please call the Sophomore Advising Office at 262-472-4900.
Juniors and seniors who have already been admitted to the upper division have an advisor in the department of their major. Some majors require advising prior to registration and others do not. You should receive information from your major department prior to the registration period, but if you do not, you can check your WINS homepage to see if you have an advising hold or you could contact your department to find out how to proceed. If advising is not required for you, it would still be in your best interests to meet with your advisor. You can find your advisor’s name on your WINS homepage.
If you are an online student (taking all of your courses online to complete a BBA degree with a major in general business), you should contact the Online BBA Coordinator.
