Welcome to the James E. and Margaret F. Toennies Scholarship Application.
James E. "Jim" Toennies, graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1951; received both a bachelor of science in Physical Education in 1955 and master of science in Physical Education in 1962 from UW-LaCrosse; and his Doctor of Health and Safety from Indiana University in 1971. Jim started teaching and coaching in 1957 at Maine Township High School in DesPlaines, Illinois before taking teaching and coaching positions in the Sheboygan Public Schools. Jim went on to join the UW-Whitewater staff as a teacher and coach in 1962, and served in a variety of capacities until he retired in 1993 as a professor in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Jim was recognized as an outstanding teacher, coach and volunteer in his profession, on campus and in the Whitewater community. Jim and Margaret were married in July of 1955 and raised five children.
This Scholarship application will be open to apply for starting November 16th, and ending Feburary 15th.
