Front Desk Assistant

Supervisor: Office Associate

Student front desk assistants play a vital role in fulfilling the mission of CSD. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the staff of CSD and to maintain the smooth operation of the main desk area while providing a consistent high level of services to our students.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  1. The ability and desire to learn the procedures of CSD
  2. Basic office skills:
    • Answering phones, forwarding calls, taking messages, setting up appointments in the outlook calendar   
    • Using basic computer programs: word, excel, access
    • Filing
    • Operating a copy/scanning machine
    • Operating a fax machine
  3. Ability to adapt to a flexible work environment
  4. Ability to communicate clearly, pleasantly and courteously
  5. Ability to learn a variety of new tasks as needed


  1. Act as a receptionist to visitors and students, directing them to their proper destination
  2. General operation of the main desk area
  3. Appropriate handling of confidential information
  4. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors relating to the position and/or requested by staff members (i.e. exam proctor, courier, mail, etc...)
