ATTENTION:

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County’s Department of Integrated Studies invites applications for an instructor (rank of Associate Lecturer, Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer depending on educational background and experience) for the 2019-2020 academic year.

JOB DETAILS:

This position would teach courses at the Rock County Campus, a two-year open access campus as part of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. UW–Whitewater is one of eleven comprehensive universities in a public higher education system that also includes two doctoral institutions, 13 freshman-sophomore branch colleges, and a statewide Extension. In the fall of 2018, as a result of the University of Wisconsin System’s restructuring of the state’s 13 two-year campuses formerly known as UW Colleges, UW–Rock County began operating as a branch campus of UW–Whitewater under the new name of University of Wisconsin–Whitewater at Rock County. Together, these campuses form a preeminent academic institution driven by the pursuit of knowledge, powered by a spirit of innovation, and focused on transforming lives. QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in accounting or business or a masters and 18 graduate credits in the relevant discipline
  • To teach BUS 201 and BUS 204, 6 credits of graduate level accounting or CMA or CPA
Desired Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience at the University level
Knowledge, Skills & Abilites:
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach introductory level Business courses; hold appropriate office hours; attend orientation activities; perform required course administration including development of a syllabus, grading, assessment, and reporting tasks.

BUS 110 Personal Finance
A study of personal financial management. Examines the financial problems and consequent financial decisions required of individuals in our economy. Subjects covered are applications in family budgeting, consumer buying decisions, borrowing, insurance, personal real estate, income taxation, investments, and estate planning.

BUS 201 Introductory Accounting
Fundamental principles, terminology, techniques, and applications; books, accounts and financial statements for retailing and wholesaling concerns; treatment and presentation of proprietorship, partnership and corporate accounts.

BUS 204 Managerial Accounting
Interpretation and application of accounting reports by management in planning, coordinating, and controlling business activities; presentation, analysis and interpretation of financial data; internal control and reports to management; cost-volume-profit relationships, budgets, costs, and managerial decision making.
