ATTENTION:

The Department of Marketing in the College of Business & Econmics at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater seeks a Lecturer (TL020) beginning in the Fall semester (August 2022).

Academic staff positions are provided fixed term appointments with annual renewals unless otherwise noted. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon performance, university funding and external forces.

JOB DETAILS:

The candidate will teach undergraduate courses in marketing and should have the ability and desire to teach some combination of the following classes: Principles of Selling, Sales Management, Business to Business Marketing, Sales Negotiation, Digital Marketing and Advanced and Entrepreneurial Sales.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MBA in Marketing
  • 10 years of experience in sales and selling

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience or a strong interest in serving as a faculty advisor in student organizations
  • Demonstrate potential to be an outstanding teacher, sales team coach, and active contributor of professional, university, and community service.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability and desire to be a student organization advisor and sales team coach.
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The candidate will teach undergraduate courses in marketing and should have the ability and desire to teach some combination of the following classes:
    • Principles of Selling
    • Sales Management
    • Business to Business Marketing
    • Sales Negotiation
    • Advanced and Entrepreneurial Sales
    • Digital Marketing
  2. The successful candidate must also have experience or a strong interest in serving as a faculty advisor in student organizations as well as demonstrate potential to be an outstanding teacher, sales team coach, and active contributor of professional, university, and community service.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

The Department of Marketing has 15 instructional faculty/staff, offering multiple emphases, minors, and certificate programs at the undergraduate level. At the graduate level, the department is part of the Doctoral Program, offers an emphasis as part of the MBA Program, and offers an MS in Marketing beginning in spring, 2022. The Department of Marketing also oversees the UW-Whitewater Institute for Sales Excellence. The Collegiate American Marketing Association is earned International Chapter of the Year for 10 consecutive years and has a nationally recognized PSE Chapter. The Sales Program is internationally recognized and a Sales Education Foundation Top Sales Program.
