ATTENTION:

The Department of Finance and Business Law in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a Lecturer of Business Law (Lecturer, TL020).

This will be a fixed term appointment. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon the needs of the University, funding, staffing requirements, and external forces.

 

JOB DETAILS:

This is a full-time renewable nine-month appointment commencing in August 2023. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Area of teaching is Business Law. Teaching load is four classes per semester. Office hours and service commitments are also required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admission in good standing to practice law in one’s jurisdiction
  • Expertise through business and commercial law practice and/or teaching experience in business law with potential for outstanding teaching, including online teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience
  • Expertise in one or more business law specialty areas such as Corporate Governance, Administrative Law, UCC or Employment Law
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in a business-related field from an AACSB accredited school

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Willingness and Ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include teaching four courses per semester and providing service to the department and the college. On campus and online teaching are both possible. Service may include committee work and / or student organization advising.

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT:

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position.
