ATTENTION:

The University Marketing and Communications department seeks a full-time Digital Marketing Coordinator.

JOB DETAILS:

The Digital Marketing Coordinator will provide messaging to external constituencies in University Marketing and Communication website and social media platforms. The Coordinator will oversee the University’s social media accounts, create content to further student recruitment goals and telling the campus’ story for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Day-to-day maintenance of the top-level of the UW-Whitewater website to determine what content to highlight, and the best presentation and placement of content; write captivating headlines and select photography or video in line with the campus’ strategic messaging and marketing with emphasis on student recruitment, telling the campus’ story and search engine optimization
  2. Collaborate with the web team to assist with website development projects to support the university's marketing initiatives from conception (wireframes) to completion using data, usability testing and other tools
  3. Develop campaigns to inform, solicit and receive support for various university projects using digital platforms
  4. Manage UW-Whitewater social media platforms and serve as a liaison with other departments to help educate regarding best practices
  5. Be an active participant in the university-wide Marketing Council
  6. Create compelling web graphics for recruitment and telling the campus story
  7. Create compelling web stories using visuals and words
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications or equivalent area of study
  • A minimum of 1-3 years web or e-marketing experience in a professional setting
  • The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and communications principles
  • Solid organizational skills and capable of multi-tasking
  • Able to write and use images to clearly and persuasively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Basic knowledge of web content management systems, Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office, and understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong understanding of user-centered design, user experience and mobile-responsive best practices
  • Understanding of web and social media analytics
  • Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
  • Curiosity and ability to learn new skills and keep up with industry trends
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Knowledge of higher education
