ATTENTION:
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs in the College of Gradutate Studies and Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a Grant Project Manager, (Research Administrator, SC029).

Academic staff positions are provided fixed term appointments with annual renewals unless otherwise noted. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon performance, university funding and external forces. One position is commensurate with continued grant funding.

This is an internal posting for current UW-Whitewater employees. JOB DETAILS:

The Grant Project Manager provides a full range of support services related to grant and contract funding within the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma with four years prior administrative experience
  • Two-year Associate’s Degree with two years prior administrative experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree no prior administrative experience

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Familiarity with program, budgetary, regulatory, and compliance policies and requirements of major federal funding agencies.
  • Knowledge of OMB circulars, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with online proposal submission systems, especially Grants.gov and FastLane.
  • Knowledge of and experience with campus systems such as WISER, ShopUW+, etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support to Principal Investigators and campus research centers

  • Support set up of grant and contract project codes
  • Assist with budget setup with Financial Services
  • Work with Principal Investigators to purchase grant and contract funded supplies, technology
  • and travel
  • Work with Human Resources to expedite hiring
  • Assist with expense reimbursement processing
  • Assist with determination of allowable expenditures
  • Provide financial status updates
  • Ensure external funding compliance

Assist with invoicing and reporting to external agencies

  • Timely expense transfer processing as needed
  • Reconcile grant and contract budgets before final report submission
  • Communicate with funding agencies concerning budget modifications
  • Assist with interpretation of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) regulations
  • Assist with match reporting related to external funding

Campus and UW-System duties

  • Monitor and approve indirect spending plans
  • Assist with annual fiscal-year budget rollover for externally funded project codes

Other duties as assigned

  • Attend professional development events
  • Special assignments and projects as assigned
