JOB DETAILS:

The School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education (SGSCE) seeks a marketing manager who will provide leadership in developing and executing marketing plans for camps and conferences, non-credit programming, domestic travel study, and summer and winter sessions.  The marketing manager will also provide collaborative leadership with other campus units to develop and execute marketing plans for graduate programs and select for-credit undergraduate programs.  These efforts include designing and implementing marketing strategies in line with the campus’ overall brand strategy.  The marketing manager supervises a Multimedia Designer and student workers.

The marketing manager will conduct market research, supervise the design and implementation of digital advertising campaigns in coordination with University Marketing and Communications unit as well as the College of Business and Economics, and provide analytics and training of clients to understand and evaluate those efforts. In addition, the marketing manager will be responsible for managing the maintenance and updating social media platforms, and directing the development of new media content for emerging platforms.

The marketing manager is supervised by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years’ work experience in marketing or related field
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
  • Experience with developing and deploying social media content

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Supervisory experience 
  • Experience in planning, producing, executing, and evaluating marketing plans
  • Experience in research to identify target markets, competitors, and trends in the marketplace
  • Experience in digital marketing strategy and evaluation of analytics
  • Experience managing social media accounts
  • Project management experience 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in the following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops operational plans in support of marketing projects and campaigns including staffing and resource allocation, and oversees execution of operations that adhere to deadlines and budgets

1.     Collaborate with SGSCE staff, graduate program coordinators, the College of Business and Economics marketing staff, and University Marketing and Communications unit, to design new student recruitment strategies that are in line with the overall campus recruitment effort

2.     Research and implement best practices for social media and print marketing

3.     Provide analytics regarding marketing campaigns response rate and return on investment and website analytics and train users in understanding those results

Segments audiences, identifies marketing opportunities, evaluates competition, integrates marketing tactics, and measures marketing program results

1.     Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing plan for Continuing Education and graduate programs

2.     Analyze market data to provide insight and make actionable recommendations

3.     Conduct research to identify and define appropriate target groups, offerings and media best suited to these markets

4.     Work with Credit Outreach and non-Credit Outreach program coordinators to design marketing campaigns for their programs.

Develops, edits, monitors, and provides feedback on content

1.     Manages the updates and revisions to SGSCE social media platforms are accomplished as needed

Oversees creative development and project management processes for marketing activities

1.     Align CE and Graduate program marketing efforts with campus priorities

2.     Coordinate marketing as needed with University Marketing and Communications unit and College of Business and Economics marketing.

3.     Manage workflow and for promotional projects from inception to on time implementation

4.     Coordinate Graduate program marketing and student recruitment projects with program coordinators.
